Thanks to a quick visit by the Happy Hill Farm Choir, the DSC Office halls are full of Christmas cheer. The traveling Christmas choir stopped by DSC Headquarters to sing a few carols, both classic and new, to some of the staff and board members this afternoon.
After all the hours of practice and analysis of each individual voice, the group of nine effortlessly performed a set of songs showcasing an impressive range of talent. Although they all had unique sound and style, they were able to blend together and support soloists when needed. Even the finger cymbals and hand bells were well-coordinated!
While getting out of class to sing is a nice bonus, the performers mentioned their favorite part is meeting new people and making them smile during the holidays.
Staff were happy to visit with the students and give them a quick pick-me-up of Dr. Pepper and cookies (and the unexpectedly popular clementine snack) before they headed out for their third stop of the day.
Happy Hill Farm Christmas Choir has sung for DSC for many years, but it was many of this group’s first time at the office. Thank you for stopping by, and good luck to the choir on the rest of their tour!
Don’t forget, today is the last day to send in donations for Christmas gift cards for the Happy Hill Farm children. Email rebecca@evansservicecopany.com or call 972-980-9800 with any questions.
Ed and Gloria Shipman founded Happy Hill Farm to provide a safe, secure home for underprivileged boys and girls. The boarding school now includes students from the surrounding area and international students. Eighty-five percent of the boarding students are on scholarship. Without any local, state or federal funding, the dedicated operations run thanks to caring donors. DSC members play a part each year by giving donations for gift cards during the Christmas season.
