On Saturday, Sept. 19, DSC successfully hosted its firstever archery-specific event with the Texans Archery Club at Elm Fork Shooting Sports. The cool September weather made for a great morning of fellowship and slinging arrows.
The event was open to shooters of all levels, ages, and experience. Experienced shooters took on the 3-D archery safari course to sharpen their skills as archery season kicks off. Back at the static range, beginner shooters had the chance to receive one-on-one instruction as they learned about the world of archery, many for the first time.
The event was also attended by a handful of industry representatives that spent time with shooters throughout the day. Rob Neilson, the President of the Ashby Bowhunting Foundation, talked with shooters about his foundation and the research they do pertaining to bowhunting lethality. Bob Barnette from Texas Wildlife Association and the Texas Youth Hunting Program attended as well, spending time swapping stories and talking about youth hunting opportunities in the
state of Texas.
A big thank you goes out to Clint Montgomery of the Texans Archery Club and Texas Archery Academy for hosting the event with us. If you are interested in getting involved in archery or looking for a place to shoot, contact Clint and his team. They have ranges all throughout the DFW area and offer various courses at their Academy.
We wish everyone a successful season and look forward to offering this event again in the future!
