Positive Steps for Grizzlies to Return to the North Cascades

Another positive step has taken place in seeing the Grizzly bear return to the North Cascades.

According to a recent article by The Wildlife Society, DOI Secretary Ryan Zinke has announced his support of plans to reintroduce the Grizzly to North Cascades National Park and the surrounding North Cascades ecosystem. The last sighting of a Grizzly in the are was over 20 years ago. The National Park Service began writing a statement for grizzly reintroduction to the region in 2014. After Montana news outlets reported that DOI had halted the process last year, it was unclear if the process would move forward.
