DSC is thrilled to announce the hiring of Mike Hoffstatter as the new Chapter Development Coordinator. Born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee, Mike developed a deep-rooted passion for the great outdoors thanks to the guidance of his father and uncle.
Mike earned his college degree at the University of South Carolina-Aiken where he also played college baseball. He spent the first part of his professional career working in the golf industry as a club professional/general manager. More recently, he has spent the last 18 years developing chapters and fundraising in the non-profit conservation industry, striving to protect and preserve our natural heritage.

I am excited to have Mike join our team,” said Bruce Boroski, DSC Chapter Development Manager. “Mike’s wealth of knowledge, experience of fundraising and his passion for conservation makes him a great fit for the DSC Chapter Development Team. We are excited to see what the future holds for DSC’s Chapter development with Mike helping our Chapters accomplish great things while building new Chapters across the country.”
Currently living in South Carolina, Mike continues to blend his love for the outdoors with his professional endeavors, working tirelessly to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
DSC’s mission is to ensure the conservation of wildlife through public engagement, education and advocacy for well-regulated hunting and sustainable use.
Started in 2015, the DSC Chapter System is strong and steadily growing. In line with the mission of DSC and the DSC Foundation, the overall goal of the Chapters is to provide funding for conservation, education, and advocacy projects. Unique to the Chapters, though, is the fact they generally take a more local approach and can make an impact where it matters most to them, their area, state, or region.
Annually, Chapters contribute 25 percent of the net of their largest fundraiser to DSC and the DSC Foundation. Of this, 20 percent is used for real, boots-on-the-ground conservation projects of the Chapter’s choosing. Meaning, our Chapters keep or direct 95 percent of the money that they raise to projects of their choosing.
